According to the district detective police and local field level sources, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of the district conducted a surprise operation in the Laxhirchar Ghat area of Sadar Upazila on Saturday afternoon on the basis of secret information. From there, Faisal Ahmed, president of Sreepur Union Chhatra Dal, was arrested with 30 pieces of yaba. The DB team arrested another youth named Nazmul, son of Muktar of Nandina Badam Bari area, for his involvement in the drug racket. Confirming the matter, Detective Branch (DB) Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Qayyum told the media that the process of filing a case against Faisal and Nazmul under the Narcotics Control Act has been completed and sent to the learned court.
